Went down to Torbay Golf Centre this weekend near Grange Court Holiday Camp to hit a few balls in preparation for a big golf match today... Unfortunately the weather has put pay to that but perhaps I'll go down to the range again as was suitably impressed with it. I chose one of the basic bays with astro matt and different sized rubber tees to play off and particularly enjoyed trying to hit a yellow Only Fools and Horses style van at about the 150yard point! They also have more modern bays were you can put your balls in a trough that runs down to an automatic tee -replacing your ball each time after every great (or slightly dodgy) tee shot. You can also change the tee height with four handy buttons. The best thing about this place is the price - £1 for about 25 balls! This was perfect for me as I could keep coming back for more and hit about 70-75 balls in the end as opposed to being overfaced with 50 or 100 ball baskets which I've encountered at other driving ranges in the area. Overall Torbay Golf Centre gets the big thumbs up from me and all I can say now is... Watch out McIlroy!!!

Well kind of (actually my dad who has a tiger hat, t-shirt and the same make of clubs but luckily no marital problems... Don't go there!)
You can smash away 50 balls here for the relatively cheap price of about £3.50 and the resident pro Neil Hannon offers some excellent lesson plans whatever your handicap ;-)
He's actually recently revolutionised my Dads swing after a correcting a problem with his hip movement which has resulted in some very good scores at nearby Churston (plus possibly a handicap reduction the little bandit!)
