    A new Battle of the Bands competition is to be staged at Parkfield in Paignton.
    Talented young musicians are being invited to perform in Parkfield's very first Battle of the Bands competition this summer in Paignton.     Pupils at White Rock Primary School in Paignton have gone cycling mad this year. The council's instructors have taught 96 year 5 and 6 pupils how to ride their bikes on the roads and gain their coveted Bikeability Level 2 certificates and badges.   • Torbay solar energy schools light the way forward

    Solar power is coming to Paignton Community and Sports College this year.
    More Torbay schools are now helping the environment by generating their own electricity by solar power. Work installing solar panels on five schools is due to be completed this month. The panels have a lifetime of 25 years and are expected to save £400,000 in total for the participating schools.
