Planning a night out to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
If so, Torbay is well blessed with the kind of restaurants that will make your Valentine’s Night a special night out.
Some of the best restaurants around are on the stretch of road between Torquay and Paignton.
Thariks Restaurant in Torquay Road, Paignton has attracted plenty of good responses on this website.
One reviewers said: “They never disappoint. The traditional Indian food (with a few ‘modern’ twists) on offer is fresh, beautifully spiced and the portions are huge.”
Another said: “It gets the balance between being a romantic, intimate date-place and making bigger crowds feel at home, with its airy but cosy decor and lighting. The service is great and they will talk you through the menu if you're new to it. Food is served quickly, piping hot and with a smile, which ticks all the boxes in my mind.”
More traditional is the Half Moon Inn in Torquay Road, Paignton
A reviewer wrote: “It is a perfect, family-friendly eaterie, with many special offers, amazing carvery and international food buffet. The food is fresh, very tasty and the prices are very competitive.”
Another said: “This pub has had a lovely facelift and is so much more modern, lovely food and very reasonable.”
Cilantro is also in Torquay Road, closer to Paignton town centre.
A reviewer on this website wrote: “The best meal that I've had in Paignton. Staff are brilliant and you will spend ages trying to work out what to enjoy from the extensive menu. There are so many dishes to choose from, the sample menu dish works out at great value. It’s one of Paignton's top places to eat”
Another Torquay Road eaterie which comes highly recommended is Quo Vadis.
“Quo Vadis is a traditional Italian restaurant on Torquay Road,” wrote one reviewer.
“Lovely food, lovely people and a lovely homely atmosphere. I have eaten here many times and the food has always been exceptional. As expected the price isn’t the cheapest, but in my opinion it is value for money.”
