I used to go to Thariks regularly when I lived in Preston few years ago and have visited the place a couple of times since. They never disappoint, the traditional Indian food (with a few ‘modern’ twists) on offer is fresh, beautifully spiced and the portions are huge! I would especially recommend chicken biryani and sag paneer! I feel like a curry now actually! They don’t do home delivery, but it is really worth to go and pick up a take-away from there.

Thariks is well established, popular and thriving for good reason. Firstly, it gets the balance between being a romantic, intimate date-place and making bigger crowds feel at home, with its airy but cosy decor and lighting. Secondly, the service is great and they will talk you through the menu if you're new to it, although there aren't too many surprises which you may see as a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what you're after. Food is served quickly, piping hot and with a smile, which ticks all the boxes in my mind. And the dishes themselves are always spot on, fresh tasting and not overloaded with food colouring and anglicised nonsense. Well done.

We have been to thariks alot over the years, they certainly know how to cook proper, authentic indian food which tastes delicious. they do all the usual dishes and also do takeaways, both at very reasonable prices. service is good, its always busy in there, so best to book a table beforehand.
An Indian Restaurant that's been around for years but still delivers on taste everytime!
The ambience of the place is quite minimal and chilled these days (after a modern refit a few years ago) and with the delicate lighting if you're feeling romantic think it would be perfect for that difficult second date ;-)
Can highly recommend the dansak and jalfrezi and if you're adventurous ask the manager if you can sample the 'staff curry' - authentic cuisine for the connoisseur.
