It was my partner's 30th birthday and he loves a curry so I decided to treat him to a meal and Dilshad just happened to be the nearest curry house to us. Hoping they've improved, we decided to give them another try. The place was empty except for one table so the waitress gave us the menus and came back to take our order about 3 minutes later. Saying we weren't quite ready yet, she left us a couple more minutes to decide (literally). The poppadoms arrived shortly after, which we were happy about as we wanted to relax and snack on them while drinking our Kingfisher and just talking. Five minutes later... and the bloke brings our food!! The waitress intervened, asking us if we needed more time, we said yes. While we had our meal (the food was really nice, and we couldn't have faulted it except for one thing - I only wanted a starter of a mixed kebab and somehow ended with a full-size meal) but the bloke who works there kept staring at us, checking if we finished. So, the relaxing meal turned into a rushed and unpleasant experience. We will not be returning, shame, because the food was great, but the service... shocking.

We visited the restaurant for a birthday meal last year and were quite happy with the food and service so decided to order a take-away from there. Unfortunately, I have to say, we will not order from Dilshad again, after having to wait almost one-and-a-half hour for our food and when it arrived it was cold and they forgot to include a side salad with our kebab. There are better restaurants and take away places in Paignton and I sadly couldn’t recommend this one.
