The Torbay lifeboat crew raised £10,000 for the RNLI at the weekend rowing a historic lifeboat that dates back to 1866!
The boat was launched at St Mary's Bay (the other side of Berry Head) and the crew of ten rowers then set off for Brixham.
Next it was onto Paignton Pier where they met up with a team of wives and partners who had pulled an inflatable rubber version of a lifeboat from Brixham to Paignton.
They then had a crew change (22 crew members were used in all) and completed their voyage at Haldon Quay in Torquay, once again meeting up with wives and partners.
The charity event was held to highlight how important it is that the lifeboat crews of today have up-to-date equipment and training, which are solely funded by voluntary donations.
