Weather playing havoc on roads

The weather continues to cause major problems in the local area.
Rain has fallen on top of sheet ice result in a very slippery road surface.
Collisions have been reported on the A38 and A380 and on numerous minor roads across the region.
Police are warning motorists to travel only if necessary today - following a spate of collisions across the county.
“Given the number of incidents this morning it may not be possible to an officer to attend the less serious incidents although they will attend the more serious collision,” a police spokesman said today.
“If motorists have to travel, they are advised to keep their speed down and leave a far greater braking distance than normal. Many side roads will be treacherous, as they have not been treated.”

It will be nice to be by the sea for Christmas - I'm up north of Exeter , though nervous about driving if it snows!
