Things I LIKE about Paignton.

As a 'foreigner' (I was born in London) I moved to Paignton by choice. There has been a story on 'Things I hate about Paignton', so I think it only right that I should let you know of my appreciation of this wonderful part of our island.
I feel lost in a pre-war world of Agatha Christie and Hercule Poirot, the novelty of the exotic palm trees, the sheer power and elegance of the steam locomotives chugging and whistling through the town, the jolly harbour filled with bobbing boats, the scent of fish and chips creating a 'rumbly in my tumbly', the fresh sea air on a breezy day filling my lungs and washing out the fuzzyness, the happy laughter of young children playing on the sandy beaches, the old couples strolling hand-in-hand along the promenade - as much in love now as they were when first met, the magnificent panoramic view of the sea as one descends down into the bay - the azure blue of the sky reflected in the glistening waters, the enthusiastic holiday makers exploring Grockle street - the air filled with accents from all over the country, vintage car shows and fun fairs on the green.........yes, there's much beauty in this wonderful bay - but not everyone has the capacity to see it. I guess I am one of the lucky ones!
All it takes is a little imagination and a little "joie de vivre" and then perhaps you too may experience the charm of our 'English Riviera'.

hippychic1 stoops once agin to conquer! (Sic)
Does she really mean it or is she just propagandising again for the local power-freaks?
New Gov. plans will eliminate such publicationa and sites if not such sights as hippychic1.
