Residents of Paignton were today presented with sealed green recycling bins by Torbay Council.

The bins were emptied for their final time earlier this morning in readiness for the new recycling regime set to be launched on September 6.

Yellow tape used to seal the bins looked something akin to police 'Do not cross' barrier tape and written on it were further warnings for residents who might try to use them in future.

The bins will be removed over the next four weeks to be replaced by four different recycling boxes to help you separate cans, bottles, paper and food waste.

Handy nets will be provided to stop our friendly seagulls from creating any undue mess on the streets.

As this was the last time they emptied our lovely green bins - why couldn't they have taken them away with them instead of wasting money on stupid yellow tape??

    Typical council!!
