Get married with penguins and tigers at Paignton Zoo!

Two local wildlife charities have been granted wedding licences – which means you can now invite animals to your wedding!

Paignton Zoo and Living Coasts – Torquay's coastal zoo - can cater for weddings, civil ceremonies, naming ceremonies and receptions.

Living Coasts functions manager Kate Eldridge-Pace: "At Living Coasts you can have your ceremony in Our Room with a View, which has panoramic views out across the Bay, and you can have your wedding photo taken with the penguins."

Trudy Bryan, Paignton Zoo functions manager, added: "At Paignton Zoo you can now get married in various buildings around the site, including the Whitley Room, the Ark Theatre and the Island Restaurant, as well as on the tiger viewing platform and in the lion viewing area. A number of weddings are already booked - the first is in April."

As well as offering unique venues, the two conservation charities can provide local and Fair Trade food and, at an extra cost, a range of animal encounters to make the big day even more special.

Trudy: "We are charities, so money raised goes towards animal and plant conservation projects both in the UK and overseas. We have received a lot of inquires about getting married at Paignton Zoo over the years - I hope that now we will be able to provide some truly special options for couples."

Living Coasts and Paignton Zoo are registered charities. For more information go to www.paigntonzoo.org.uk or ring (01803) 697500.
