Christmas shopping in Paignton

Christmas is just a month away so if you haven’t already started shopping for the big day then you’d better get your skates on.

Strolling about the town centre earlier in the week I saw numerous shops well-stocked and kitted out for the December rush. (In particular, the Cancer Research UK store has a lovely snow-covered tree in the window). 

Indeed many independent Paignton stores seem tailor-made for fulfilling your Christmas shopping needs.

Bastins is always packed around this time being the seller of cards, tinsel, ribbons, decorations, wrapping paper, mini trees… well all things Christmas really. You’d also be hard pressed to find lower prices anywhere else.

If you’re looking to get a bit creative this Christmas and perhaps make your own decorations or gifts then it’s well worth a visit to Axworthys. They have a wide variety of stationary, paints and craft products to buy and at value prices.

You generally can’t go wrong with buying someone a good book for Christmas and Torbay Bookshop – voted one of top 50 best book shops in the country - has many of these. As well as books they also sell quality wrapping paper and cards.

If Father Christmas pays a visit to Paignton surely his first port of call will be Toy Town. It’s one of the best toy stores in the region and is jammed with the latest kid’s favourites.

Many will be attending Christmas parties in the lead up to December 25. If you want to turn heads with a creative festive costume then it’s worth checking out Mainline. They stock a variety of fancy dress, ideal for Christmas and of course New Year’s Eve.
