INTO WORK PROGRAMME FOR 16 - 24 YEAR OLDS - MUSIC FESTIVALNESS!! @ The Lighthouse, hosted by Jam Paignton - Starts January 1, 2012
If you are 16 – 24, (or know someone who is) live in Torbay and claim Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance and are REALLY into any kind of music then this could be the project for you.
Maybe you're a performer or in a band or a member of symphony orches...tra? Do you love gigs or always have your head phones in? Do you wish you had more music in the place where you live? Are you a whizz on the web, have photoshop skills to die for, can you talk for England if not the world and have great communication skills? Do you want to learn about project management, event organisation and business planning? Do want proof that a group of people working together can make good things happen? Do you just want something to do where you can forget the boredom, learn some new skills, get motivated and succeed in an almighty challenge? If the answer to any of the above is yes - then we'd love to hear from you – no previous experience or qualifications are necessary.
Initially we need 25 young people who are totally committed to forming part of a team to head up and organise the festival with the good folk of Paignton. You'll be working with experienced staff and offered 'Insight Sessions' with some amazing people who work within all aspects of the music and festival industries, work placements in different area's that interest you and the chance to say "Yeah! I did that!" when it all comes together and everyone has had an amazing time!
Alongside they'll be CV and application form workshops and a chance to work through any life issues that might be holding you up being the person you really want to be. As we've been working with music and events in the Bay for a while we know that some bits of the puzzle are missing – so if you've ever thought about starting your own enterprise we'll be on hand to help you make that happen too.
If you'd like more information please give us a call on 0794001049.
Otherwise please email us some details about yourself, what you're into and tell us why you're SO right for this to devonmusic@btinternet.com.
Everyone who applies will get a short interview and the opportunity to meet other people who want to come on board.
