I was thinking do people think pedestrianising Torbay Road would be of any benefit to Paignton? Shoppers seem to be drawn to cobbled streets more in other towns in my experience. Would businesses want this? My wife and I were discussing this. I think the area would look more attractive certainly.

It could work although think some shops/restaurants might have problems getting their deliveries through the back door...

The new and improved Talk of the Town (thanks to our good friends at Wetherspoon) might end up with a beer drought due to having Torbay Park behind it!

Perhaps delivery vans and buses could be allowed special dispensation?

i don't think it is a good idea. some tourists/visitors may drive down this road and notice shops etc that they were not aware of and may have an impromptue spend of cash in those shops etc.
