So I see Weatherspoons taking over what was the Talk of the Town is opening tomorrow! Fan bloody tastic. Do we really need another unispired, cheap, non-descript pub in town! Come on we can surely do better than that!

Ever since I’ve known the Station Square area has been a problem spot for drunken antics, so not too surprising when you put a new nightclub there – especially one that serves drinks at 99p!!

When one visits other towns for whatever reasons (holidays, visiting relatives/friends etc.) " Wheatherspoons Pubs" Have a good reputation for food and drink at reasonable costs. I am surprised that they didn't go for one of the beach front facing properties? There are many towns/cities with two plus Weatherspoon pubs and don't see it being a problem. As with all large popular pubs,Door security staff are usually in place at night. Bring on the holiday crowds! and all the potential income for local businesses i say!

I've only ever been to one Weatherspoons and it was the most vile microwaved meal it has ever been my misfortune to pass my lips. Compo rations in the Army put Weatherspoons to shame. God help your guts cos nobody at Weatherspoons will!

You pays your money and you makes your choice.
Personally I don't see a problem with having 2 Wetherspoons in Paignton. They are hardly next door to each other are they ? You don't like thier food ? Don't go in there then. You don't like thier selections of beer wines and spirits ? Find another pub. There isn't a shortage of them around here.
Speaking from personal experience of visiting both pubs,I have enjoyed many a pint and as meal and have always found the staff in both establishments to be pleasant and cheery and it has been a pleasure to visit them.
