Lower business rates and scrap the parking metres. We might just salvage our town centre then!!

ReportAn outdoor swimming pool. It would be a nice alternative for holiday makers in the summer - especially for those with kids.

Implement new required economic policy (due to exceptional market conditions)
to be lifted when Local Authority / National Debt is paid off.
1. Build Toll Stations at Monksbridge, Windy Corner, Totnes Road and The Ring Road.
2. Double mooring fees for any non-resident boat owners.
3. Privatise all beaches in Torbay.
4. Ban photography without a valid license issued by the Authority.
5. Issue "Torbay Letts" to permit limited local bartering as in Totnes.
This is what we need most in the whole of Torbay..
Fully accountable public officials and spokespersons
in the new open and Independent Local Government of Torbay Borough.
Let their transparency shine through their hidebound sectetive habits, regulations, restrictions, Bye-laws and beaurocratic red tape, to be seen in all their glory by their paymasters.. us the Council Tax Payers !
We need the shops open. It's a ghost town, unless you count the 99p stores! Kill the taliban, aka, traffic wardens, reduce business rates to get biz people interested.
Torbay council: YOU GOTTA SPEND MONEY B4 IT'S TOO LATE FOR ALL OF US

ReportPeople seem to be sooo down on Paignton. Trust me the town has a lot more going for it than many. I've lived in a lot worse dead-end towns (mainly up north) before I settled down here. By the coast, great scenery, the zoo, plenty going on - is it really that bad?? Tell me a town centre that's not struggling... it's just a sign of times in general. Come on people chin up!!!!
Well, looks like we might be getting a Costa Coffee where pound world used to be in Victoria Street... Herald Express

Agree with you there Mrs Flopseybun (what a name!) the Zoo is pretty pricy so any help there would be appreciated.

Agree with hippychick - the 99p shop would be an ideal site - not the best first impression as people step off the train!
