Torbay Road Level Crossing

The current arrangement for the operation of this crossing is a track circuit just after Torquay Station. This results in the barriers coming down far to far in advance of an approaching train. This results in a huge traffic build up on Torbay Road and Hyde Road, especially in the summer.

I think network rail should move the crossing activation device nearer to Paignton, or even make it driver operated byt he gates. All trains have to stop at Paignton anyway, so it should not cause a problem, and would dramatically reduce congestion
