Agreed. There should be less introsive ways of sharing one's faith.

makes me want to set up nearby and preach and as an atheist i don't think that would go down too well. therefore i don't preach i just respect that we all have different views on religion.

Would be good if the street preacher just held up a placard which said "If you want to hear about Christianity... Come to your local church every Sunday at 10:30am."
Simple, effective and... SILENT!

To be honest, if people want to preach, let them. Why are you so closed to listening to people who want to share their beliefs? Is it so intrusive? Would you let a friend tell you about something they're excited about that you don't necessarily agree with? Come on, surely life hasn't got so stressful and hectic that you haven't got time to just give someone a couple of minutes to tell you all about it?! Even if you walk on and say, thanks, but no thanks! Something that really annoys me is people who are very rude to Jehovas Witnesses who knock on the door. I mean, as long as you feel safe, talk to them, listen to them, then tell them you don't agree. Different beliefs and opinions make us a more interesting culture, even if some of those people seem a bit wacky. What ever happened to free speech and tolerance? I'm not saying they convey the right message though - that's not at all what I'm saying. They probably do nothing to help the plight of dwindling numbers in church services, but hey, just give people time to talk....!
