    Can someone please relate to me the theory on building new hotels when we can't fill those we already have?

    Sadly people are attracted to bland, corporate hotels like Travel Lodge and Premier Inn where everyone is packed in and given discount rates.

    Not all people can afford to stop in grand 5 starred Hotels. Excluding Members of Parliament of course.

    Travel Lodge and Premier Inns actually provide a good standard of accommodation. There are some that are rough around the edges. More from overuse.

    Are you suggesting that ALL the hotels in the Bay are 5 star? Regardless of the starage we cannot fill them.

    There are loads of cheap bed and breakfasts in Paignton, which serve pretty much the same purpose as the Premier Inn, so do we really need another chain hotel in Whiterock?

    When I drive through Paignton and see local hotels and b&b’s with full signs hung up outside – then maybe there’s a case for another Premier Inn, but until then… please no.

    Saw in the Herald that the Torbay Court Hotel has gone into administration - http://tinyurl.com/4w4a9dc It's very sad that local businesses are suffering so much when large chain hotels keep expanding.
