Not for the first time I saw someone nearly come a cropper on the Totnes Road earlier - turning into Hayes Road from Waterleat Road. It's very dangerous as the right turn is almost blind with cars whizzing up the hill. I think there should be something done there, maybe speed bumps etc. Anyone else agree?
I agree, few car drivers walk any where and are not away of the danger they put pedestrians in, I am fit and able, but am rather sick of having to make a mad dash across the raod, please slow down in built up areas and be more aware of others.

ReportVery Much agree with previous posts, as to the dangers faced by both pedestrians and motorists alike on this dangerous crossroads. And have to wonder how there have not been more accidents. If i can put this into perspective of the motorist waiting to turn right into Hayes Road/Penwill Way. One has to be very wary of oncoming traffic (some times recklessly fast) while trying to peer past the central bollard and over the brow of the hill. (Maybe not so much of a problem for Drivers in larger Vehicles) And also watching out for pedestrians crossing Hayes Road.. Perhaps Traffic Lights are needed?

The problem is that road gets so backed up with Paignton Zoo traffic in the summer - so anything that could make it even slower creates problems. Obviously people's safety is more important though. A tricky one indeed.

ReportA Tricky one! Agreed. I have on occasion seen the traffic backed up past Broadlands Road in the summer.Which, It would seem make the crossroads "light Controlled"all the more reasonable,as otherwise as it is at the moment, one has to rely on the good nature d motorist letting you into the flow of traffic. And if one is trying to go over into Waterleat Road that then becomes two Good natured motorists one is hoping for!

At the other end of Waterleat Road that comes out on Kings Ash Road can be a nightmare. Especially when vans are parked by the shops, you have to stuck your nose right out, which is dangerous.

ReportTotally agree with you on that. I have pulled out on many an occasion looking in the rear view, to find a vehicle bearing down on my ar.( rear end.) gathering speed from Tweenaway? And as we know there has been a few shunts there! Answer?

ReportAgreed with all. Would also say the traffic on Kings Ash Road around rush hour is ridiculous too. Every day it's about a 45 minute queue at least!! No real solution in sight I guess.

The crossroads between Southfield Avenue and Lammas Lane in Preston. Both these roads are unusually wide seeing as they are residential streets. Cars tear up and down both and make that junction very dangerous. Just last week another crash happened resulting in one poor residents' wall being completely demolished. That junction needs serious traffic calming before someone is killed. Unfortunately I have heard that is exactly the council's philosophy "unless there is a fatality, we aren't interested" That is a despicable attitude.
