Yesteryears, an old-time costume photography studio, is located within the "Smugglers & Pirates Experience", Harbourside building, along side the Quay, Brixham. "We'll capture the pirate in you!" "Yesteryears" is a fun, family experience with a unique and quality photographic souvenir as a result. "We allow you and your family to dress up and take a nostalgic trip back in time". Complete with fantastic backdrop, props and period costumes, the stage is set for a fun happening that creates, by capturing an image on camera, a memorable keepsake. Using digital technology, images will be available right away and customers will be able to have their portraits in either authentic sepia, nostalgic black and white or full colour. Your photo will be a memory to cherish for years to come! "Yesteryears" has initially adopted a pirate theme. Pirates managed to captivate the minds of people during the centuries, like no other part of our history. Brixham has embraced the pirate culture and traditions through its swashbuckling pirate antics every Thursday during holiday season, and the now world famous Pirate Festival held in May each year. "Yesteryears" has also obtained the Hall of Names license and provides historical and heraldic gifts such as Coats of Arms and Surname Histories. With an extensively researched database holding in excess of 1 million Coats of Arms, and surname histories, origins and meanings, this is undoubtedly a very special gift for anyone. These unique and personalised products make that perfect gift for anyone interested in discovering the history of their surname. Why not choose a Coat of Arms and Surname History as an authentic parchment or framed print – a full colour rendition of your Coat of Arms, together with your family surname history at the bottom of the scroll. With beautiful border graphics to complement the Coat of Arms, these products are perfect for any occasion. The history includes a wealth of information including the origin of your surname (usually pre 1100), spelling variations, early movements of the name during the Middle Ages, what lands were owned, first migrants to the New World and any notables of the name. Each scroll is printed on a sheet of A3 parchment paper and is sold with an individual certificate number and a gold seal guaranteeing the authenticity. A bibliography detailing the source of the information is printed on the back and is a great place to start if you are looking to research your name in any more depth.
