POLICE IN Torquay cordoned off a section of the town yesterday (Monday 18 February) after an "unexplained device" was found in a garden of a property. The Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called in to assess the situation and used a robot to check the site...

The incident began following concerns from officers who attended an address in Falloway Close, Torquay.

They then set up a 100-metre cordon in the area of Falloway Close as a precaution following the discovery of an unexplained device in the garden of a property.

The cordon included Happaway Road and extended as far as, but not including Barton Road.

It's understood that investigations have been continuing in to the incident. Three people have been arrested. Residents have been allowed back into their homes.
