Fire crews attended a blaze at Paignton on Saturday 23 Feburary
At just after 5pm yesterday (Saturday 23 February), two fire appliances from Paignton were mobilised to a building fire in a block of flats at Clovelly Rise, Paignton. Due to the number of calls and information received, Fire Control mobilised a third appliance from Torquay. Crews arrived on the scene and confirmed that smoke was issuing from the property.
At 5.21pm, crews confirmed this was a domestic two-storey property, with the ground floor well alight. Crews also stated there could be persons still inside the property. Crews got to work with two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet. Ambulance, police and the Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service were requested to attend.
Crews extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one covering jet and a positive pressure fan. The property was severely damaged. All persons were accounted for and it's understood that no-one was hurt.
