Another successful pi jam, Tom set up his latest project, on the pi, which uses a wii remote to control a helicopter flying over open street maps, this works very well and you can move around the map area, which was set for the locality of the Pi jam.
The robot arm was also demoed as well as the robot that tom built a few months ago and has had various improvements made over time.
The event was saw a new pi set up from scratch, another user left with information on where to purchase a new pi. We also got a pi and laptop communicating over peer to peer network by hacking the configuration files on the pi to set up a static ip address, as I don't think the library wifi allows ssh over wifi, plus we need a monitor to set up the wifi on individual computers.
Next Pi jam 8th March, please see http://dcglug.drogon.net/torbay-pi-jam/ for information.
