Impact of Industrial Action in Paignton, November 30, 2011
A council spokesperson has said:
"Every effort has been made to keep disruption to a minimum, we have worked closely with the Trades Unions and have put all the necessary arrangements in place to ensure that essential services are maintained. There may be some minimal disruption to services and we would ask residents to bear with us for the day of planned action. At present we can confirm the following;
- Schools - Torbay Council has details from schools which have informed us about anticipated closures/partial closures on November 30 due to strike action.
This information has been put on our website www.torbay.gov.uk/schoolclosures and will be updated. However it may not paint a full picture depending on how many schools give us their details. Parents have been advised to make contact with schools directly for further information.
Secondary Schools
2 closed, 3 part closed, 1 open, 1 unknown.
Primary Schools
15 closed, 3 part closed, 8 open, 4 unknown.
Special Schools
1 closed, 2 open.
Connections Service
Torquay and Paignton open, Brixham closed. There is a limited call centre service.
- Libraries - All open.
- Registrars - Open.
- Refuse Collections - Refuse collections are taking place as normal.
The council's civic amenity site at Yalberton, Paignton, is open as usual.
We will update residents via the local media and via our website www.torbay.gov.uk as soon as we are made aware of any other changes to services."
